The Social Environment and Cognitive Health in Urban and Rural Areas (SECHURA) is a longitudinal study investigating the social mechanisms of cognitive aging in later life. It is funded by the National Institute on Aging (R01AG078247).
SECHURA provides a dynamic view of aging by gathering a range of rich data on the cognitive performance of participants as well as an in-depth account of their social interactions, relationships, and networks, the activities in which they engage throughout daily life, and the places these activities transpire.
